Services for Roy Dale Simmons, 50, of Tyler are set for 10:00 a.m. Monday, at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler. Pastor Robert Carter of Colonial Hills Baptist Church and Dr. John H. Beard will officiate. Graveside service will be at the Newton City Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Monday in Newton. Visitation was on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler. Mr. Simmons died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler after complications from diabetes. He was born in Newton and lived in Tyler for 32 years. He was an accountant at the corporate headquarters of Brookshire Grocery Company. He was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy S. Simmons. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Simmons of Jasper, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Donnie Smith of Jasper, Sara and Gayland Matejka of Bryan and Mary and Barry Threadgill of Round Rock; eight nieces and nephews, Angela Smith, Kristin Smith, Colton Smith, Trent Miller, Devin Matejka, Marissa Threadgill, Kaitlyn Threadgill and Matthew Threadgill.
