Dorothy Berres was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on October 3, 1919. Her parents were Jacob and Elizabeth Hammes Berres and the family lived at 89 Seventh Avenue NE. When she was 22, she married David Anschutz in Minneapolis on August 2, 1941. They had a son David in 1942, a daughter Elizabeth Jane in 1943 and a daughter Patricia in 1944, while her husband was in the USArmy. After the war, David was hired as a Minneapolis police officer. They soon moved to 1425 Grand St. NE. to raise a family. Dorothy had several more children. Dorothy Joan in 1947, Jean Marie in 1948, Donald in 1952, Peggy Ruth in 1953, William in 1954, Thomas in 1955, Robert in 1958 and Daniel in 1962. David retired and he died in 1999.

Dorothy lived until January 3, 2004. Dorothy was cremated, and her remains were buried with her husband, David, at Hillside cemetery in Minneapolis.
