Albert "Lynn" Betterton, 74, passed away April 12, 2021 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Wadena, Saskatchewan to Eldon and Hazel Betterton, Lynn was the oldest of 4 siblings raised in the Wadena/Melfort area. After graduating from SAIT, Lynn worked as a sheet metal mechanic and was involved in the construction industry throughout his career. He was proud of the work he did, and would often share stories of his involvement in the construction of many of the major buildings in downtown Calgary. Lynn was an avid curler and enjoyed time at the rink with good friends and family over the years. In recent years he became an avid fan of professional curling and could name the skips for all the major teams across Canada. Lynn enjoyed camping and pulling RVs for long holidays, and liked to show off his skill at backing his fifth wheel into even the tightest of camping spots. Lynn knew the value of having the right tool for the job, and had the work ethic to do it right. He loved to fix things and build things and would lend a hand to anyone needing help on projects big or small. Lynn loved his trucks and took pride in keeping them clean and well-maintained; you could often find him polishing the chrome on his truck after he drove it home from being detailed. Lynn loved to laugh and had a great sense of humour throughout his life - making many of us laugh with his quick wit and wry observations on life. Lynn loved his family more than anything. He will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Elaine, and his son Todd (Jennifer). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jaimie, Cody (Brooke-Lynn) and great-grandson Bennett. He is also survived by his brothers Neil of St. Brieux, SK and Brian (Cheryl) of Victoria, BC and his sister Sharon Elmy (Harvey) of Esterhazy, SK, numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
