Graveside services for Gladys Holt Brooks 86, of Ypsilanti, Mich., will be held at 11 am. Saturday, June 3, at Reunion Cemetery, Elkmont, with Carl Witty officiating. Stark Funeral Service, Ypsilanti, Mich., and McConnell Funeral Home will direct.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brooks died Tuesday, May 30, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
She was born Sept. 28,1913, in Athens. She was the daughter of Kelvie and Esther Van Buren Holt. On May I, 1931, she married Robert C. Brooks in Athens. She was the manager of Russell Anderson Apartments in Ypsilanti for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Ridge Road Church of Christ, Ypsilanti.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, Viola Brewer, Hazel Brewer and Margaret Adams.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Brooks Jr. of Ooltewah, Tenn., Jimmy Brooks of Martinez, Ga., and roy Brooks of Brooklyn, Mich.; three daughters, Cathy Wilford of Elkmont, Betty Carter of Whiteville, N.C. and Joyce Goodman of Bellville, Miss.; one brother, Harold Holt of Athens; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tim Brooks, Darryl Carter, Darrin Carter, Greg Goodman, Chris Brooks, Lance Brooks, Steven Brooks, Mickey Black and James Robert Black.
