Lawrence D. "Larry" Kelley was born March 27, 1922 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was the second of seven boys born to Lawrence S. and Hazel Wonderlich Kelley.

As a boy Larry helped his family move from Iowa to Montana in two horse-drawn wagons. The family moved several times in Montana, northern Idaho, and Washington. During the depression Larry was one of thousands of teenagers and young people who hoboed the railroad system.
In the early 1940s Larry joined the Idaho Army National Guard in Weiser, and in December the unit was sent to the Philippine Islands for training. They were aboard transport ship when Pearl Harbor, and other American installations, were bombed. Larry returned stateside a couple of years later after some non-combat injuries.
On June 15, 1946, Larry married Cora B. "Cody" Jackson in Weiser and they eventually raised five children.
Larry's working life was transport trucking, heavy equipment operation for construction, logging, bus driving, ranching, farming, and a number of odd jobs.
He had numerous recreationalinterests including motorcycling,hunting, fishing, camping, auto restoration, antique engine restoration, electronic repair, traveling,
RVing, and in recent years, enjoying companionship and recreation at the YMCA.
Larry is survived by Cody, his wife of 59 years; sons Les and Howard; daughters Hazel, Rosanne, and Shannon; brothers Dwight, Don, and Richard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing is arranged on Mon day, March 13th, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Idaho, 5541 on Overland; Road in Boise. No services will be held. Remembrances can be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
