Michael Nilsen-Baumwoll husband of Liz father of Maya and Clara, son of Joel and Ellen Baumwoll, brother of Lisa Baumwoll Konstadt suddenly and unexpectedly died at age 52 of heart failure on August 22 in his home.
Michael was born in Manhattan, New York City and attended Walden School. and was a graduate of SUNY Purchase.
Mourned by his wife, children, parents, sister, aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, cousins and hundreds of friends who esteemed him highly. Mike was loving and was loved in his life bringing joy to all who knew him. The description Happy go lucky doesn't do justice to his warmth and acceptance.
His father wrote:
"My son lived a wonderful life, experienced the joy of two wonderful daughters, the love of his wife, the love of his sister and parents, a huge roster of friends who loved, valued and adored him, a successful career as a designer and musician and producer and the joy of life for his 52 years. We would have loved to have many more but are so grateful for that wonderful life he lived.
He was a graduate of SUNY Purchase and worked as a web site designer and musician playing drums in many bands and loving Reggae music. During the Covid-19 pandemic Michael organized many "On line" concerts bringing musicians together to perform
their music.
An endowed scholarship has been created for musicians at SUNY Purchase contributions can be made in his name.
