The body of Mrs. E.A. Bailey, 54, of Neodesha, who had been living with her daughter, Miss Florence Bailey, at 1021 Mechanic, was found hanging in the garage at their home about 1 o'clock this morning. Coroner Ted McDaniel said that Mrs. Bailey had hanged herself with a bedspread and had been dead approximately three hours with the body was found by her brother, O.C. Clapp, 801 Exchange. Relatives of the woman had searched for her for several hours.
Relatives said Mrs. Bailey had been despondent and restless all day, Sunday, and had been depressed for several weeks. She came to Emporia two months ago to be with her daughter, who is a senior at Emporia State College.
