He was born on August 17, 1950, in Welch, West Virginia to Paul Branch and Deloras (Romans) Johnson. He moved to Florida at a young age and was a Hernando County resident for almost 50 years.
Kenneth worked at Southwest Florida Water Management District for 22 years, where he picked up the nickname Chico. He later left to open his own land excavating business that he worked alongside his wife Carla. He worked this business many years before officially retiring and spending his days working on a farm.
He enjoyed playing softball, hunting and fishing. He loved watching the Bucs and Rays play throughout the years, even when they weren't winning. When not doing these hobbies, he could be found riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was very active in coaching and supporting youth sports, especially baseball. Here his new nickname became "Coach Chico". Over the years, he coached a countless amount of kids including his own children and grandchildren, and loved every minute of it.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Paul Branch, mother Deloras (Romans) Johnson, stepfather Donald Johnson, sister Karen Movinsky, and brother Paul A. Branch. Sadly, Ken's wife of 49 years, Carla passed away 5 days after he did. He is survived by his daughter Karen Como (Domenick) and their children Nicholas and Tyler. He is also survived by his son Jason Branch (Trish) and his children Sabrina and Jorden. Kenneth also leaves behind his brothers Jeff Branch, Doug, Fred, Dan and David Johnson and their families. He had numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
