Tribute: Mr. Buss Sr. died Monday November 26, 2007 in Greeley.

Henry Buss Sr. was born in Muenster, TX to John and Anna (Jaske) Buss. When Mr. Buss was six months old he and his family moved to Centrailia Oklahoma. He spoke German until he started school and then learned English from his two brothers. Mr. Buss helped on the family farm and missed weeks of school during planting and harvest, but was awarded his 8th grade graduation diploma. At age 61 he tested and received his GED with a high score. During WWII he worked for the USDA as an agricultural advisor. Although he tried to enlist several times he was denied in order he continue his work with the USDA. Mr. Buss moved to Greeley in 1948 and his life's work became auto mechanics. He started out working with Wickland Motors and later with De Brown Chrysler Plymouth. He was a master mechanic for 29 years.

Mr. Buss was also a very talented musician. At the age of seven he played the fiddle for square dances. Later he had his own band the "Colorado Playboys" that play around the Greeley and Denver area. His musical highlight was to make recordings and play in Denver for the Rocky Mountain Square Festival where 2500 couples danced. He eventually gave up his music because he felt it kept him from his family. He was a generous man, and a great husband and father, and grandfather.

Survivors: wife, Ruth Buss of Greeley; daughter, Mary Achziger and husband Lyle of Evans; three sons, Henry "Bill" Buss Jr. of Greeley, David Leon Buss of Greeley, and Raymond John Buss of Greeley; grandchildren, Ruth Anne Schulz of Windsor, Kimberly Buss of Sioux Falls, S.D., Henry Buss III of Loveland, CO, Christopher Buss of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Raymond John Buss Jr. of Evans; and eight great grandchildren.

Preceeded in Death: parents; son, Roger Laurence Buss; two sisters, and five brothers.

Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
