HOUCHINS -- Guy Maurice, Jr., died on Monday, February 6, 2006, at home. Guy was born to Guy Maurice Houchins, Sr. and Mary Stuart Houchins, on November 20, 1927, in Washington D.C. He grew up in Tulsa, OK, and was a graduate of Central High School. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps before earning a Petroleum Engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines. Guy spent his professional career as a Geophysicist for Amoco Production Company and its predecessors, becoming Manager of Exploration Systems. He retired in 1986 and began to travel abroad extensively with his wife, Ann. He was an avid sports fan and was especially interested in ice hockey and football. He also enjoyed reading and playing bridge. On December 17, 1955, Guy married the love of his life, Ann Vickrey, and they recently celebrated their golden anniversary. Guy was a gentle, loving and devoted husband, father, grandparent and friend and will be deeply missed. He is survived by: his wife, Ann of the home; daughter, Sarah Stuhr of Yukon, OK; he is also survived by his grandchildren, Kendall Stuhr and Guy Stuhr; step-granddaughter, Jenna Newberry; niece, Cynthia Stuart; and nephew, Jeffrey Krolik. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Stuart; and daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Nafty Farris. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 11, 2006, at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, located at 5635 E. 71st Street in Tulsa, Father Noel Doherty officiating. Burial of cremains will take place immediately thereafter in the Memorial Gardens at St. Dunstan's. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Guy's memory to the Salvation Army or St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church. Cremation Society of Oklahoma, 599-7337.
