From The New London Gazette, June 2, 1769:
On the 28th ult. died at Norwich, Benjamin Abel of that town in the 82nd year of his life. He left widow, ten children, fifty three grand children and three great grandchildren.
Burial in this cemetery is conjectured based on his death at Norwich.
Genealogies differ as to the parentage of Benjamin, however, "The Abel Family in America", which gives his parents as Benjamin Abell and Hannah Baldwin, seems authoritative. The Hyde genealogy (2nd photo) is probably incorrect.
