Twila M. (Beers) Loyer, age 88 of Marion, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Marion Manor.
Twila was born April 14, 1933 in Marion County, the daughter of Harold and Florence "Flossie" M. (Kennedy) Beers.
She was united in marriage to Richard L. "Dick" Loyer on October 17, 1969. Together they shared over 40 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on January 31, 2011.
Twila was one of a kind. She was a perfectionist and definitely wanted things done her own way. She was not afraid to get her hands dirty. Perching at Lake Erie was a favorite hobby and she was known to clean and cook her own fish. She helped Dick to build a house, a barn and different pieces of furniture over the years. Crocheting blankets was one of Twila's gifts and during the holidays she made hand dipped chocolate covered cherries and homemade wine. She also enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.
Twila enjoyed being involved and was a member of the Waldo American Legion Post #605, VFW Post #7201 of Marion, Marion Senior Center, former member of the YMCA, was a faithful member of Peace Community Church of Christ and delivered mobile meals for 35 years.
She is survived by her children: Sharon Utley, Sue Graber, Michael (Debbie) Shenefield all of Marion and Teri (Jim) Phillips of Florida; grandchildren: Rickey Cook, Dennis Utley, Amy (Rolf) Kamphowe, Myra (Matthew) Hughes, and Kali Skye (Jay) Banda; step-grandchildren: Jody (Tim) Adkins and Lana (Travis) Bishop; 8 great grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and siblings: Gwynn (the late Ralph) Bailey and Floyd (Wanda) Beers.
Twila is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard "Dick" Loyer; and siblings: Marvin Beers, Amy Carrol, and Bruce Beers.
Visitation will be Friday, September 10, 2021 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel from 12Noon to 2PM; funeral service will immediately follow at 2PM; burial will be in Waldo Cemetery.
