Annie was first married to Alexander McLEAN and had 4 children, Alexander Barden John, Allan, Christina Jemina Johanna and Arthur McLEAN. After Alexander's (snr) death in 1909 in Johannesburg, she married John McFARLANE in 1911. They adopted Ronald McFARLANE (birth name William MORGAN) in 1914.
