Charlean Brown Anderson, 87, of Fairfax, formerly of Lynchburg, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007. She was the wife of the late Orville Hyland Anderson.
Mrs. Anderson was born July 24, 1919, in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Charles Cabell Brown and Alice McDermott Brown.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Mae Brown Moore; and a brother, John Stevens.
She was supervisor at the Retail Merchants Association for more than 40 years and was a life-long member of Providence United Methodist Church. She was dedicated to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Blankenship and husband, Bruce, of Montclair; and two grandsons, Brian Lee Blankenship and wife, Veronica, of Arlington, and Gregory Alan Blankenship and fiancé Camille Rosenberger of Alexandria.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
