Birth date approx.

Záviš married Kunigunda in Prague in 1285. However, Kunigunda died only a few months later. Záviš married again on 4 May 1288 (or 4 May 1287) to the Hungarian Princess Elizabeth, whom he had kidnapped from the Monastery of the Blessed Virgin. Her kidnapping had been organised by King Ladislaus IV (Elizabeth's brother).

He was executed on behalf of the King on 24 August 1290.
