My Brother was very special...., you would have to know his story, to understand why I think that.

He was born in Beatrice, Nebraska, January 19, 1949. He had curly hair and was so cute. Everybody body just adored him. At sometime while he was still a baby, we moved back to Kansas. Where my parents and I was born. We moved in with our Grandma and Grandpa Hanson. At that time, everything was good. But Grandma Hanson passed away in December 1950.

Sometime in 1951, my parents packed up and we moved to Washington State. Our Fathers sister, Aunt Iva, and her family was living in Washington and wanted us to move there. They told my Parents that there was better opportunities there. So my Parents packed up, boarded a train and headed out west.

Our Uncle Earl, picked us up at the train station. But on the way to to his and Aunt Iva's home, a dog ran out in front of the car. Uncle slammed on the brakes and my brother flew forward and slammed into the windshield. My Uncle was terrified. He thought that he had killed my brother. ( You see, his only son had died in in 1932 at 12 yrs old, after falling out of a tree.) But thank God, my brother was only knocked out. But unfortunately, he had brain damage from the blow to his forehead.

As the years passed, we saw the heart breaking things that he had to endure. He had a lot of learning difficulties and had severe speech problems. He could talk, but it was really hard to understand him. He would sometimes get so frustrated because he had trouble trying to get people to understand just what he was saying.

School was very hard for him in his younger years. One very sad memory that I have, that has traumatized me to this very day. We was in school and everyone was celebrating Halloween. He was in kindergarten and I was in second grade. The teachers was taking the kids from room to room, to show everyone their paper sack masks. The kids was coming through my room, but I couldn't see my brother. Then there he was......at the end of the line, with another little boy, hanging on to his hand and pulling my brother along. He had not cut out the eyes on his mask so he could see. He didn't understand how to do that.
My heart was so broken, I burst out into tears.
HOW COULD THE TEACHER HAVE LET THIS HAPPEN??!!!

There was so many, many heartbreaking times during his life. Including the way his wife and daughter treated him. (I was supposed to take care of my little brother. And I tried so hard. But I feel like I failed him in so many ways.)
So now we are nearing the end of his life.
His wife put him in a rehab center because she said that he couldn't care for him, because he was having trouble walking. This was suppose to rehab him so he could get around on his own again. Didn't happen! The abuse just continued.

I tried so hard to get him out of there and into a proper nursing home. But I wasn't allowed to. Because I was ONLY his sister. His wife had full charge. And she didn't want him transferred. So he died in there with NO medical care. I can't prove, but I truly believe in my Heart, that he didn't pass away of natural causes. He was suppose to also have an autopsy done. But that didn't happen either. Cover up?

Notes: Here are a couple of happy little things about him. He was very kindhearted, loving and forgiving. When he was born, I could not say Everett, so I called him Bubby. Then When My Oldest Daughter was little, she couldn't say, Uncle Everett. So she called him Unkie. That nickname stayed with him for the rest of his life.
