He was a graduate of Tazewell High School and McClains Business College in Bluefield. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as an auditor for AEP. A former member and president of the Southwest Virginia Civitan Club, he also was a member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke.
Surviving are his son, William H. "Bill" Stowers; step grandchildren, Jon and Douglas Robinson; step great grandchildren, Joseph, Anna and Carlton Douglas, Jr.; sister-in-law, Kathleen Stowers of Bluefield, Va.; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Cora Stowers; and brother, Glenn M. Stowers.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Monday, December 3 , 2007, at Oakey's South Chapel. Pastor Brian Gordon will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
