Constance "Connye" Jeanne (Scott) Gomez, 74, passed away on September 7, 2021, in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born January 16, 1947, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Donn and Audrey (Anderson) Scott.

A God-fearing woman, Connye made her church home at Wichita First United Pentecostal.

Connye was a generous and caring person who marched to the beat of her own drum. She was known for quietly blessing others and rarely backed down from uncomfortable conversations.

Extended to immediate, family was everything to Connye. She delighted in her grandchildren and found great joy in sharing new experiences with them.

Connye enjoyed reading, dancing, sewing, horseback riding, flowers, puzzles and traveling. One of her bigger adventures was going to Maine and boarding the Schooner Mary Day Windjammer. It was a new and exciting experience for her. She thoroughly enjoyed the sightseeing and new friends she met along the way. Another memorable adventure was a recent trip Connye took with her eldest grandson to Alaska, where they fished, hiked, ziplined, swam in waterfalls and, most importantly, spent time with family.

For many years Connye worked as a home health care nurse, bringing comfort and care to patients and their families while they were on hospice or battling Alzheimer's. In her retirement years Connye worked at Walmart as a cashier, something she greatly enjoyed.

Connye is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joselyn Kisha (Gomez) and Eric Slay; son, Christopher Phillip Gomez; grandchildren, Hunter Nathan, Chase Brandon, Ryder Lowell and Francesca Rose; brothers, John (Cindy) Scott and Brian (Terry) Scott; sister, Beverly Stigge; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Sprading Cemetery in Greenleaf Kansas.

A Come & Go Memorial Tea will be held in Connye's honor at Wichita First United Pentecostal Church, 1755 E MacArthur Rd., Wichita, Kansas at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
