Joseph Alfred "Luce" Gremillion, age 74, a resident of Jarreau, Louisiana, passed away on September 8, 2021. He was born on November 12, 1946 on the banks of False River to the late Ernest and Mae Gremillion. Alfred grew up in Ventress, Louisiana and raised his family in the small, close knit community surrounded by his large extended family. He worked at NRG (formerly Cajun Electric) for 35 years and also had a successful seawall business. He enjoyed gardening, maintaining his yard and visiting with family and friends. He was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic church community and Knights of Columbus Council #8878. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lisa; his children, Teri and John Gordon and Ryan and Linsey Gremillion; his grandchildren, Catherine, Alexandra, Antonia and Jackson; his brother, Alex and Gail Gremillion; his sister, Kathleen and Isadore Johnson; his special friends, Horace "Honey" Fuselier and Thomas Samuel; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and three eldest brothers. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, Louisiana on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Father Todd Lloyd will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at noon followed by a burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank the many doctors and medical staff who provided care to him over the years.
