FISHKILL – Efrain Rubin Brito, a resident of Fishkill and formally of Brooklyn, passed away at home on Saturday, September 11, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was 75.
Son of the late Efrain and Mercedes (Montanez) Brito, he was born in Santuce, Puerto Rico on December 14, 1945.
In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. and served during the Vietnam War. He earned the Purple Heart, National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals. Efrain worked for more than 35 years as a Superintendent for Allstate Realty in Brooklyn. He loved spending time with his family and listening to his oldie's music.
In 1980, he married Gloria Cunningham, who predeceased him in 1997.
Survivors include his children, Victor Cunningham, Lily Cunningham, Helen Cunningham, and Lesly Brito; his grandchildren, Joshua Cunningham, Gabriel Cunningham, Tristan Durbin, Brandon Cunningham, Tori Villanova, Kevin Granatos, Michael Hernandez, Luna Hernandez, Hayden Durbin, Michael Cunningham, Mia Moore, and Autumn Durbin; his siblings, Ruby Muniz, Elizabeth Mirles, Damaris Rodriguez, and Miriam Canto; and many other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday from 11am – 2pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
