Delena Jo "Jimmie" (Chrisman) Sanborn, age 92, of Sedan, Kansas passed away, Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home.
She was born on December 23, 1928 in Peru, Kansas to Leo E. Chrisman and Grace A. (McGill) Chrisman. She graduated from Sedan High School in 1946.
On April 24, 1949 she married Glenn A. Coffey in Coffeyville, Kansas. They were later divorced. On November 20, 1963 she married Tharo Sanborn in Sedan, Kansas. She was preceded in death on February 17, 1976.
Jimmie worked at Keeny's Restaurant, Dr. Hills Dentist Office, and Mel's Donut Shop. She purchased Mel's Donut Shop and it became Jimmie's Daylight Donut Shop. She also worked at Harmon's Drug and Dana's Rx Shop before her retirement.
She enjoyed painting, crocheting, and embroidery; she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four daughters; Terri Coate and husband Lee, Mary Jo Julian and husband Mark, DeAnn Santo and Tom Oast, Judy Parman and husband KG; two sons, Steven G. Coffey and wife Trish, Terry E. Sanborn and wife Carolyn; one
brother, Mack Chrisman and one sister, Janice Chrisman; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one husband, two brothers, one sister, and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Pastor Penny Goldberg of the First Christian Church officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dickens Family Funeral Home in Sedan with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The family has suggested memorials to the Gregg Theatre or the Hollow and remembrances may be left in care of SAEDC, P.O. Box 226, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
