Edith Marie Kitts, age 71 of Tazewell, VA passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born December 2, 1949 at Tazewell, VA, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Preston Cornwell and Alverta Rudd Cornwell. She attended Grace Full Gospel Church for twenty years and was very active in her church. Her grandchildren were her life. She loved flowers-especially her cactus collection. Edith also enjoyed reading and going sightseeing with her husband, Bill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Cornwell; sister, Linda Mitchell and brother in law, Clif Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband of over fifty years, Bill Kitts; sons, William "Billy" Wayne Kitts of the home and George Preston Kitts of Tazewell, VA and companion, Janet Cooper; brother, Mike Cornwell and wife, Sandy of Thompson Valley, VA; sister in law, Pastor Carol Cornwell of North Tazewell, VA; grandchildren, Austin Nicholas Kitts and Katie Grace Kitts.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday, September 20, 2021 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM with Pastor Carol Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Kitts and Gene Reynolds.
