Mildred A. Harris, 93 of 310 N. Cherry St., Eaton, died Saturday evening, March 19, at Governor Harris Homestead after an extended illness. She had been a resident of the nursing home since January 1991. A native and lifelong resident of Preble County, she was born June 13, 1900, the daughter of Charles and Elma (Wilson) Huffman. She was a member of the Eaton United Church of Christ. Her husband, Ralph S. Harris, died in 1969; a brother, Glen B. Huffman, in 1971; and a sister, Ethel Huffman, in 1913. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dale C. and Mary Lou Harris of Eaton; grandchildren, Nancy and Bill Henry of Dayton and Dr. Tom A. and Jane Harris of Eaton; and a niece, Ella May Huffman of Eaton. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 22, at the convenience of the family at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Dr. Phillip D. Malone officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
