Sam passed away as peacefully as on the wings of an angel with family by his side due to esophageal and bone cancer. Born the fourth son of six siblings to Roy Coleman Brock and Dorothye Louise (Osmond). Sam attended Kennewick High school, class of 1971, and went into the army at 17 years old. After he served, he traveled across the country looking for enlightenment. While in California he met his wife, Joann Blackburn. They lived in Washington and Oregon, eventually returning to California for the past 30+ years. He was a kind and generous man with a green thumb for gardening. Sam believed our primary purpose in life is to help one another and to never hurt one another. He was an avid reader, retaining information with extraordinary recall of the facts. He will be missed and fondly reminisced. Preceded in death by his wife Joann; his parents and brothers, Doug, Dave, and Dannie; and his Duncan first-cousins, Connie, Anita and David. Survived by his brother Mike (Susan) Brock, and sister Lesley (Larry) Horman, and first-cousins Linda Martin, Russ Duncan, Judy Beebe, and Keith (Robin) Duncan. Sam's internment is at 10am on Sept. 17 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. The "Circle" still holds. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice in Sam's name.
