February 1936 – Passage. ST. ANTHONY, Feb. 25 Danford McArthur, 42, passed away at his home in St. Anthony Saturday, February 22, 1936. His sudden death was due to ptomaine poisoning. McArthur for many years had been an employee of the post office department as a rural mail carrier. He was the son of John McArthur and Sarah Elizabeth Abbott, and was born August 5, 1893, at Bennington, Idaho. He had been a resident of St. Anthony practically his entire life.

On June 27, 1912, he was married to Myrtle Birch at Wilford. This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan L. D. S. temple. Besides the widow two sons, Merlin 18, and Gregg, 14, and two daughters, Jean 9, and Jacqueline, 3, survive. One son, the eldest, passed away some years ago.

In addition Mr. McArthur is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Elizabeth Hollist of Wilford, Mrs. Sadie Smith of Tooele, Utah, Mrs. Florence Perry of Parker, Mrs. Edith Mains of Idaho Falls, Jacob Arthur of Lovell, Wyo., David McArthur of Buhl, Steven McArthur of Logan, D. P. McArthur and James McArthur of St. Anthony.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock in the St. Anthony tabernacle under the direction of Bishop A. E. Archibald. Interment will be in Wilford cemetery under the direction of W. M. Hansen. –The Post-Register, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tuesday, February 25, 1936, Page 10.
