Hugh E. Burwell, 76
Dillon - Dillon native Hugh E. Burwell died Thursday in Barrett Memorial Hospital. He was 76.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 in Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon with the American Legion officiating.
The Dillon native was born Oct. 16, 1909, to Joseph and Estelle Hamm Burwell.
He worked as a cook on various ranches around Beaverhead County and served in the Navy in World War II.
Survivors include sisters, Annis Bean of Salmon, Idaho, and Mamie Case of Dillon.
He was preceded in death by a son, George, two brothers and four sisters.
Memorials are preferred to the local heart and diabetes societies. Brundage Funeral Chapel in Dillon is in charge of arrangements.
