Mr. Shelley was born in Conway, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Benjamin Shelley.
He was a member of Sweet Water Branch Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Roberta Collins Shelley; three sons Charles Edward Shelley and Jason Roosevelt Shelley Jr., of Rt. 1 Myrtle Beach, LeVon Shelley of Myrtle Beach; one brother George W. Shelley of Sumter; and four grandchildren.
