DEATH YESTERDAY OF MRS. GERTRUDE J. BANKS
Funeral at Crawford Ave., Church Today.
Mrs. Gertrude Josephine Banks, wife of George Iran Banks, died at the residence, 1823 Watkins street yesterday morning at 4:55 o'clock. The deceased was 47 years old and had been ill for three days. She was a native of Greene County, Georgia and had made her home here for the past ten years.
The funeral will be conducted from the Crawford avenue Baptist Church this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with Rev. B. F. Halford officiating and interment will follow in West View Cemetery.
The survivors are: husband, Geo Iran Banks, of Augusta; three sons, Frank Banks, of Asheville, Wallace and Roy Banks, of Augusta; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Wells and Miss Irma Banks, of Augusta; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Sturdivant, of Augusta and Mrs. T. M. Chapman, of Athens and one brother, T. W. Woodham of Josephboro, Ga.
The deceased was a member of Liberty Council, No. 12, Daughters of America, which organization will attend the funeral in a body.
The following gentlemen will serve as pall-bearers: J. N. Epps, W. C. Carroll, W. F. Bently, L. D. Whitlock, Ollie McGehee and Burley Heath.
