Edward R. Bachman HARRISBURG Edward R. Bachman, 91, of Harrisburg passed away Friday at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, operated by Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. He was born in Lebanon on August 20, 1916, to the late George C. and Sara (Strickler) Bachman, and was raised in the Lebanon area. He was a graduate of Lebanon public schools and Lebanon Valley College. He loved basketball, which he played in high school, at college, and on various YMCA teams; and he enjoyed playing golf. He was a devoted member of Brookfield Bible Church, Harrisburg. He worked as a claims adjuster for Penn National Insurance Company. He was known as a kind and efficient processor of claims made after automobile accidents. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Loraine Bachman, of Edison, New Jersey. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna T. Bachman, and his two brothers, George S. Bachman and David H. Bachman. Published in Lebanon Daily News on Dec. 4, 2007
