Raymond E. Carson, 79, of 1212 St. Clair Ave., died Wednesday, March 29, 1995 at St. Nicholas Hospital, following a brief hospitalization for a fall at his residence.
Mr. Carson was born Dec. 28, 1915, at Merrillan, Wis., to the late Emanuel and Hattie Cook Carson.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, as a recruiter.
On Aug. 6, 1948, he married Miss Sonya Pfister at Maywood, III. In 1953, Mr. and Mrs. Carson moved to Sheboygan. He was employed as a freight traffic manager and later was employed by the State of Wisconsin Job Service Department, where he was director of the Work Incentive Program (WIN). He retired in 1987.
Raymond was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, trustee, deacon and usher.
Survivors are his beloved wife, Sonya; four sisters, Lillian (Robert) Otis, Middleton, Wis.; Ella (Francis) Hicks, and LaVon (Vernon) Rogness, Black River Falls, Wis.; Mary (Richard) Storandt, West Salem, Wis.; and two brothers, James V. Carson, Black River Falls; and Virgil (Ruby) Carson, Reno, Nev.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and George.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, at 2 p.m., at First Presbyterian , Church. The Rev. Dennis L. Cobb, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be at Garden Terrace Mausoleum. Friends may call at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, and at the church, from 1 p.m., Sunday, to the time of services. A memorial fund has been established
