Leo Donald Serby, 80 of Greeley, died on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit.

He was born on July 11, 1927 in Ottawa, Illinois to Newton and Nina (Armstrong) Serby.

Leo married Elizabeth Malik on November 7, 1953 in Morris, Illinois.

Mr. Serby had lived in Greeley since 1995. Prior to living in Greeley he lived in Ottawa, Illnois from 1953 to 1961 and Morris, Illnois from 1961 to 1995.

He was a member of the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church and was active in prayer ministries. Leo enjoyed spending time taking care of his family, and working in his house and yard.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Serby of Greeley; two sons and their wives, Mark Alan and Marcy Serby of Colorado Springs, and Michael David and Kathryn Serby of Mundelein, Illinois; two brothers, Clare Serby and Doyle Serby both of Ottawa, Illinois; a sister, Marie Murdock of Bemidji, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Sarah and husband Kyle Jones, Joshua Serby, Becky Serby, Emily Serby, Zachary Serby, and Lauren Serby.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Serby and Kenneth Serby; two sisters, Ruth Behrens and Lona Stanford.

A memorial service to celebrate Leo's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Christ Community Church, 1301 15th Street. Cremation.

In Leo's name memorial gifts may be made to Christ Community Church or to The Foundation For His Ministries Orphanage in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
