Joseph Donald Bray, 90, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Joseph was born and lived his whole life in Fayetteville, Georgia. He was born on Saturday, August 8, 1931, to Burgess and Ruby Brown Bray.

He was a United States Army veteran, a graduate of Georgia State University, a former Fayette County Commission Chairman, and a retired accounting service businessman. He is survived by one brother, Loy and four nephews, Don, Neal, Charles, and Alan Bray; and by three nieces, Carolyn Forsyth, Sarah Drinnon, and Gail Smith; along with a special longtime friend and health advisor, Pam Daniell.

He exhibited a great sense of humor to caregivers throughout a debilitating health decline. He was a person who gladly provided sound advice and mentoring to a large number of people. He loved playing the guitar, gardening and playing on the computer. He will be dearly missed.

The family will lay Joseph to rest at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church off New Hope Road, Fayetteville.
