MORMON PIONEER OVERLAND TRAIL. 42 Wagons were in the William Snow/Joseph Young Company when it began its journey on June 21, 1850 from the outfitting post at Kanesville (present day Council Bluffs), Iowa, but the size of the company more than tripled as it made its way across the plains, numbering 488 pioneers. This Church Train was initially organized near the Missouri River; arriving in the Salt Lake Valley October 1-4, 1850.
Traveling with Fanny Esther Barnum were:
Charles David Barnum (Age 50). Charles was a member of the 6th Quorum of the Seventies and was part of the 50 men selected to be part of the night guard for the William Snow/Joseph Young Company.
Nancy Barnum (Age 28).
