Elmer Lebron Abbott, 82, of LaFayette, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Elmer retired from the City of LaFayette after 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Lamar Abbott; parents, Jim Abbott and Avie McKaig Abbott; and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Abbott; son, Terry (Vickie) Abbott; stepdaughter, Chastity Ward; grandchildren, Brooke Abbott (Allen Smith); Shannon Abbott, Jerome Templeton; step-grandchildren, Megan and Lonnie Gilreath; great grandchildren, Tanner Abbott, Logan Smith, Hayden Abbott, and Sable Godfrey; step-great grandchildren, Makenna and Presley Carroll; sister, Lois Abbott; and brother, Larry Abbott.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Powell officiating.

Interment at LaFayette City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Stacey Meeks, Dee-Dab Brown, Chuck Bohannon, Steve Baines, Allen Smith, and Jerome Templeton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
