Loyette enjoyed working with numbers and was an accomplished bookkeeper. She worked at several places though the years, including Borden, where she was once the voice of Elsie the Cow. She served as the manager at Marion CATV, and worked at Graves Piano and Organ in Columbus. Most of her career was spent at the Marion Municipal Court.
Loyette was an avid reader. She loved music, especially big band music and Latin music. Her hobbies included crafting, collecting seashells and sand dollars, swimming and being by the ocean, trips to Las Vegas, anything The Ohio State Buckeyes, and annual family holiday baking. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, she had a fierce competitive spirit. There was no letting someone win; they had to earn it, even if it was a game of gin rummy with her grandchildren.
Loyette and Jim enjoyed many winters in Florida. In the early Florida years, they enjoyed gallivanting around on a motorcycle or by car to various beaches and towns; eventually, they settled on residence in Bradenton. They enjoyed gathering there with friends from Ohio, making new friends, and simply enjoying life in the sunshine. They welcomed family members while there as well. Loyette developed a passion for bingo and could be known to "bingo hop" with friends in Florida, and with her sister-in-law Connie in Ohio. We never heard about money lost, only about the winnings, the fun and the laughter.
Loyette's greatest love was her family and she and Jim leave quite a legacy. She is survived by her three children, Ginger (Michael) Hannon, Randy (Kathy Finnegan) Masters, Julie (Luke) Miller, step-children Kathy (Randy) Masters, Tim (Teresa) Finnegan, Krista Blas: grandchildren, Kyle (Tiffany) Pearce, Morgan (Greg Quickel) Masters, Ben (Kaylen) Miller, Kelsey Miller, Chris (Joanna) Finnegan, Ryan (Kayla) Finnegan, Stephanie (Jeffery) Phillips, Ally (Jonathan) Grablin, and Michael (Tara) Blas as well as 15 great grandchildren.
Loyette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Finnegan, stepdaughter Kim (bob) Pickens, and grandchildren Steve Pickens and Alex Masters.
A private graveside service will be held to honor her life at Marion Cemetery.
