James Edwin Adams, 95 of Graceville, passed from this life on September 24, 2021 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida.
James E. Adams was born on August 18, 1926 in Chipley, Florida to Dewey and Ethel Taylor Adams. An American Cowboy whom dedicated his life to building an honest living for his family by working cattle and caring for land. A true steward of the land, James worked as a ranch foreman in Manatee County for twenty-two years. In his early years he traveled the southeast rodeoing and competing in wild cow milking events. He then retired back to his hometown alongside his wife, Gladys. He enjoyed spending time outdoors ranching, hunting, gardening and spending time with his beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. James was strong in his Christian faith and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Graceville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Dewey and Ethel Adams; wife: Gladys Adams; brothers: Alton Adams, Lowell Adams, Charlie Adams, Quinton Adams; sister: Elvia Hodges; step son: Royce Findley; grandchild: Marty Findley.
He is survived by his sons: Edwin Adams and wife Cindy of Myakka City, Florida, Jimmy Adams of Graceville, Florida; siblings: Ella Mae Armstrong of Panama City, Florida, Hollice Adams of Panama City, Florida, Lynn Burgess of Dothan, Alabama, Franklin Adams of North Carolina, Carlton Adams and wife Brenda of Chipley, Florida; grandchildren: Michael Findley, April Findley, Holly Findley, Timothy Findley, Jenna Albritton, Jamie Wolfe and husband Josh; eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Salem United Methodist Church in Graceville, Florida with Rev. Steve Ashbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
