Barbara Ann Hoar, age 79 of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 15, 1942 to Russell and Betty (Lloyd) Phillips. She graduated from Mason Consolidated High School in Michigan.

Barbara loved to cook and bake. She made the best pizza known to man, and would cook for anyone whenever she had the chance. Before she lost her sight, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting, but losing her sight couldn't take away her love for music. Kenny Rodgers and Roger Whittaker were her favorites. She enjoyed going to church. She attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. But above all, Barbara loved being a mom and a grandma. Her family was her world and she loved them all dearly and made sure they knew it.

Barbara is survived by her children, Karen (Steve) Hieskell, Susan (Dave) Gardner, Patricia (Donald) Brantley, Allen (Christina) Hoar, Lewis (Susan) Hoar, and Camille (Tim) Arend; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn (Craig) Hanscome. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, friends, nieces and nephews, and good friends Bobbie and Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Betty; husband, Allen, and her sister, Sharon Russell.

Friends and family may gather to remember Barbara on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 11 - 12:00 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio where a memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in her memory.
