Elaine was born on Sunday, June 11, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, one of three children born to the late George August Hild and the late Ethel M. Labbe. She was a longtime resident of Pasadena Hills, Missouri. She was an 80-year parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and taught pre-school at the parish school. She passionately loved St. Louis Blues Hockey, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, attending St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dogtown and spending Christmas Eve at the Carter's.
She is survived by her two children, Susan M. Fitzgerald (Rick Zacker) and Kathleen M. Fitzgerald; one grandchild, Madeleine Zacker; one sister-in-law, Maureen Walsh (husband, James); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, cousins and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband of 32 years, Michael David Fitzgerald Jr.; two brothers, George A. Hild Jr. (late wife, Dorothy) and Larry C. Hild (late wife, Janet); two sisters-in-law, Peggy Sargent (late husband, Lloyd) and Julie LeBeau (late husband, Charles); and one brother-in-law, Edward Fitzgerald (late wife, Nora).
Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 2:00–7:00 p.m. at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9255 Natural Bridge Rd., St. Louis, Missouri 63134. There will be a second visitation on Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7530 Natural Bridge Rd., Normandy, Missouri 63121 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
