STUTTS, James Arthur of San Antonio. Age 77. Died 1/30/1973 in a San Antonio hospital. Services held 2/2 in the Porter Loring Funeral Home in San Antonio. Burial in Mission Burial Park, San Antonio.

He was BORN 3/7/1895 in Rockdale, son of the late M/M. Jack Stutts. Moved to San Antonio when inducted into service in WW-1. Attended Rockdale public schools and later graduated from Toby's Business College of Waco. Employed in Rockdale and Thorndale before moving to San Antonio. Early distributor of poultry and eggs in San Antonio area. Operated Stutts Produce Co. at 1708 N. Main, San Antonio for 47 years. He also was a race horse breeder and once operated a race track on Seguin highway. Member of David Crockett American Legion Post in San Antonio, Hermann Sons Lodge and several times president of the Texas Racing Asso. Widely known as a horse trainer and breeder. Retired from business 4 years before death and operated a 300-acre farm. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mrs. Lester (Frankie) Turner and Mrs. Emma Lou Martin.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Mary Stutts of San Antonio; 2 nieces, Yvonne Gregory of San Antonio and Mrs. Florene Stovall of Dallas; 2 nephews, Harold Turner and Henry Martin, both of San Antonio; numerous cousins in Rockdale-Cameron area.
