Raymond Edgar Smith, 73, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 1994 at home.

Metz Funeral Home, Cape Coral, handled arrangements.

Mr. Smith was born Sept. 8, 1921 in What Cheer, Iowa, the son of Wells and Alma Smith. He married Helen Swanson in East Moline on June 29, 1956.

He retired from the former International Harvester Works, East Moline.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 969, East Moline; Scottish Rite Valley of Moline; and Christ Lutheran Church, Cape Coral. He enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his widow, he was survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and his stepfather.
