SHARON A. KOENIG, 83, of Fort Wayne, a native of Auburn, Ind., passed peacefully on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Parkview Hospital - Randallia Hospice Care Unit. Born Dec. 1, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Emory Wagner and Thelma (nee Shawver) Burns.

She worked many years at General Electric and Parkview Hospital. Sharon was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she served with others in the Altar Guild. After retiring, she continued to volunteer at Parkview Hospital until her health began to fail her. She volunteered as the clown "Rainbow" with the Smiles Unlimited Universal Clown Ministry. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, serving as the "Queen Mother".

Surviving are her children, Gregory A. Koenig and Rebecca L. Koenig; a beloved granddaughter, Akya Koenig; a sister, Malinda Kay Burns; and brother, Stephen (Jeanne) Burns; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Koenig, in 1995; and brother, Jack Carson.

Service is 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne (IN 46805), with visitation one hour prior. Burial in Concordia Lutheran Gardens - Lake Ave. Arrangements by Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46835).
