Ray was born in Marion on June 30, 1947 to the late Arthur Wilson and Ida (Dall) Phillippi. After attending North Union High School, Raymond enlisted in The US Army during the Vietnam War where he worked as a Helicopter Gunman.
After being honorably discharged, Raymond worked for OHIGRO as a truck driver hauling beans and corn. Raymond also had his CDL for more than 50 years.
Ray married the love of his life, Pamela Sue Price on July 3, 1992 after being introduced by her mother. Ray and Pam enjoyed almost 30 years together, camping, visiting family, and playing with grandchildren. Pam survives.
In younger years, Raymond was a member of the VFW, Moose and Eagles. He enjoyed bowling in many leagues at Star Lanes and Blue Fusion. In addition to bowling, Ray could be found fishing with his family at West Harbor on Lake Erie and camping at East Harbor State Park or Hickory Grove Camp Ground. In later years, Ray could be found in his Lazy-Boy watching Western Movies and cheering on The Buckeyes and The Green Bay Packers. By far, Raymond's family was his priority and spending time with his grandchildren was a must.
Ray will be missed by his wife, Pam; sons, Raymond K. Wilson, Jason Wilson, and John L. Weber; grandchildren, John M. Weber, Joseph W. Weber, Landyn A. Weber, Lincoln Weber; siblings, Carol Weir, Diana White, and Jimmy Wilson, along with countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ray will be resting with his grandson, Jordan Wilson and brother, Kenny Wilson who have already passed on.
Visitation will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel (360 E. Center St., Marion) on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 11 until 1 pm. A funeral will be held at the funeral home at 1 pm with Celebrant Mark Schuring officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens with Military Honors provided by The Marion County United Veteran Council.
