ACWORTH, Ga. Oct. 3, 1941 -- Mr. M. L. Hicks, 81, died at his home just south of Acworth Monday night following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Hicks, a native of Union County, came to Cobb 25 years ago and bought the farm where he has made his home until the present time. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olivet Church, the Rev. F. C. Singleton officiating. Burial was in the Mars Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hicks' wife died 18 months ago but he is survived by seven daughters Mrs. P. L. Chambers, Kennesaw; Mrs. W. E. Duncan, Due West; Mrs. Sallie Owenby, Kennesaw, Mrs. Claude McCollum, Macland; Mrs. Harmon Griggs, Acworth; Mrs. Aubrey Shutley, Kennesaw; Mrs. Clay Curtis, Macland, and one son, Mr. C. C. Hicks, Lost Mountain.
