She was born in South Bend, Indiana on June 7, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Geroli) Chonody.
Mary married Michael Rojics on August 29, 1943, in South Bend, Indiana. He passed away in 1994.
Mary was a devoted wife of 50 years and a mother of three daughters. In 1996, she moved to Port Huron to reside at her daughter Sharon Sander's home. While in South Bend, Indiana, she was a member of Calvary Temple and devoted many hours volunteering at World Harvest Ministries. Her parents immigrated from Hungary. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at age nine and served him all her life. Mary traveled to Israel twice and she retired from Wirecraft Easy Heat and Simplicity Pattern.
She is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Ron) Fletcher of Niles, Michigan and Sharon Sanders of Port Huron; son-in-law, Rev. Johnnie R. Johnson of Fort Gratiot; grandchildren, Angie (Bill) Faber of Clinton Township, Chad (Kelly) Johnson of Kimball Township, Scott (Heidi) Fletcher of Boise, Idaho, and Chris (Jim) Branson of Spokane, Washington; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Gabriel, Andre, and Andrew Easton, Faith and Anna Faber, Courtney, Jeremy, Wesley, and Finley Johnson, Ben and Ollie Branson, Haili Harrison, and Hayden Fletcher; brother, Andy (Sandy) Chonody; sister-in-law, Janet Chonody; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Johnson; granddaughter, Alicia Easton; and brothers, Joseph (Grace) and Emery Chonody.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 1, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hancock Street. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Phil Whetstone of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate. Graveside services and interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.
