B. Frank Adams Is Called To Maker.

Another of the G.A.R. veterans answered to the last roll call and passed on to another life, when Benjamin Franklin Adams, 80, passed away in his home in Northwest El Dorado, Saturday evening, May 2, at 7:15 after a three weeks serious illness with heart trouble. He had been sick for several months but only in the last three weeks had his condition been considered serious.

Mr. Adams was born in Center county, Pennsylvania, December 2, 1833; he came to Kansas in 1865 and was married to Miss Adaline Spencer in 1867.

To this union were born four children all of whom survive. They are Charles and Junia Adams, of El Dorado; Spencer Adams of Lima, Peru; and Mrs. Louie Adams Scott of Chicago.

Mrs. Scott will arrive from Chicago today to attend the funeral.

Spencer Adams is an electrical engineer in Peru, South America and will not be able to attend. He has been away 15 years. Mrs. Adams and one brother R.R. Adams of Grand Rapids, Michigan, also survive. R.R. Adams on account of illness will not be able to attend the funeral.

Mr. Adams was one of El Dorado's oldest and most honored citizens. He came here from Pennsylvania in 1865 and since that time has been a resident of this city. He was a member of the G.A.R. having served valiantly in the Civil war in company 8 of the Pennsylvania volunteers. He was a staunch Christian man; a member of the Presbyterian church almost his entire life. He took a pride and interest in his Christian work and the places his death leaves cannot be filled.

To the loved ones who mourn the loss of a loving father and husband the sympathy of this community is extended.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the home, conducted by Reverend A.O. Ebright of the Methodist church and Reverend J.W. Everds of the Presbyterian church. Interment will be had in Belle Vista cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.E. McCully, O.F. Hobbs, G.W. Houser, George Stinson, Dan Elder and H.W. Hinkle.
