John Joseph Ahrens Sr., 81, died April 22, 1994.
He was a native of Long Island City, NY, and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 15 years, coming from Fort Lauderdale.
Mr. Ahrens was retired from serving as building inspector for the City of Fort Lauderdale. He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn L. Ahrens of Port St. Lucie; two sons, James T. Ahrens and Michael F. Ahrens, both of Fort Lauderdale; one daughter, Virginia Martin of Port St. Lucie; one brother, Thomas Ahrens of Riverdale,
Bronx, NY; three sisters, Margaret Anderson of Hicksville, N.Y., Martha Anderson of Fort Lauderdale and Catherine Schneeburg of Glendale, NY; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Joseph Ahrens Jr.
SERVICES: Friends called at Yates Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie. A wake service was held there. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. Burial in White City Cemetery.
