Mildred M. Kinsey, 93, passed away December 5, at her daughter's home.

Mildred was born June 23, 1914 in Energy, IL. and raised in Herrin, IL.

She married Vaughn Kinsey in March of 1942 and moved to Colorado in 1945. After a couple of years in various places in Colorado, they settled in Lyons.

She was a long time member of the Lyons United Methodist Church. She worked for various owners of the market in Lyons for many years.

Her main focus and devotion was her family; through preparing wonderful meals, sewing for the family, to spending time loving and caring for her grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family, teaching them the importance of hard work, and the importance of a loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, one son, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Hansen and husband, Richard, of Aurora, Colorado and Debbie Tabor and husband Jerry of Lyons; five grandchildren, Lynda Nowacki and husband Chris of Blackfoot, ID, Tara McGirl and husband Rich of Platteville, Wade Tabor of Loveland, Eddie Kerr and Derek Kerr of Cut ‘N Shoot, TX and one sister, Pauline Lee of Portage, IN. She also has 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 1 PM Sat. December 8, 2007 at Lyons United Methodist Church with Rev. JoAnne Bucannan Brown officiating.

Interment Lyons Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties or to Lyons United Methodist Church and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
