Alonzo Hall, age seventy, 1355 South Tremont avenue, who is blind, was burned fatally, Wednesday morning when flames destroyed the two-room house. He died at City Hospital.
Mr. Hall was rescued from the burning building by neighbors, Charles Sims, age twenty-eight, 1356 South Tremont avenue, and Albert Sparks, age thirty-eight, 1354 South Tremont avenue.
Firemen said Mr. Hall who was alone, apparently stirred up fire in the stove and ignited his clothing. Flames set fire to the furniture. Mr. Sparks aided in the rescue despite a broken foot.
