Thomas Cromwell of Marcy Township, and probably the oldest man in the county, died Monday evening. He had reached the century mark and had been a resident of Boone County since 1856. Looking back over the years his was a great span of life. For forty-four years he had been a resident of Boone County, but when he took up his abode here he had passed middle life, being fifty-six years of age. Born about the time of Washington's death his life covered almost the entire period of our national history.

He was twice married, his second wife dying about five years ago. A large family survives. A sister married Mike Myers father. T. B. Platter, his guardian, made arrangements for the funeral, which was held Wednesday from the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. S. Bennett and the remains laid to rest in the Hull Cemetery.
