Sherry Ann DeWitt Hager, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Sherry was born on December 30, 1941 in Streator, Illinois to the late Robert Dean DeWitt and Harriette Ann Chapman DeWitt. Her father was killed in World War II when she was just two years old.

Sherry graduated from Springfield High School in 1959 and received her Bachelor of Arts from Milliken University in 1963. Sherry had a full career that included managing medical practices in Texas as well as Florida. Most recently she was Practice Manager at Texas Children's Hospital. Sherry was always very active in her community and spent a great deal of time dedicated to peace and social justice. She was an active member of Congregation Brith Shalom and greatly enjoyed participating in the Sisterhood study group. Most of all, Sherry's greatest joy was being the mother of four children and a loving Savta to seven grandchildren.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and by her children's father, William Martin Hager. She is survived by her brother Robert, her four children, Andrew and wife Vicki, Jennifer and husband Jeffrey, Christopher and wife Mindy and son Matthew. She is also survived by seven beautiful grandchildren, Levi, Lorelei, Sadie, Ethan, Emery, Grant and Grey, as well niece Kristin DeWitt, Cousin Michael Saxer, Cousin/Goddaughter Amy Saxer and cousins Greg Bomke Lennox and Melanie Bomke Gens.

A memorial service will be held at 3:15 PM on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Congregation Brith Shalom, 4710 Bellaire Blvd, Bellaire, Texas 77401.
